From the pre-launch blog:
So it’s about time the CEO had a say. Hello world. This is the very brief story of how Gradberry was born.
So I graduated around 16 months ago, and for my career, I couldn’t decide between whether I should win the Nobel Prize for physics first (I had a degree in Finance) or end world poverty. Basically, I was confused as heck and had completely unrealistic expectations. I was booksmart with a ridiculous graduate GPA, but I had absolutely no idea where to start looking for a job. So I looked. And looked. And looked. And I grew tired and weary of looking. And then it hit me, like a giant meteor, that other graduates are probably having the same issue! Then I ignored the meteor, found a job, and started with my career.
Then about a year later, I realized something was missing from my life. During this time I was doing some major research into recruitment, and learning to code as well. I started spending evenings and weekends working on the idea for the portal, and becoming a complete work-a-holic robot. That was when it clicked, and I realized I had to take the idea further. Then by some miracle, my ideas all came together and it somehow made sense. I realized it was time to quit my job, follow the dream and become a broke co-founder.
In the coming weeks, I’ll get more in depth about how the puzzle pieces fit together, and how I finally figured out what the portal will do.
But in a nutshell, my aim is to help graduates follow their passion, find meaningful careers, and really figure out what they want to do with their lives.
Finally, to dispel rumours on who I really am and to finally reveal who’s behind Gradberry. Well, I’m a 21 year old girl. Also, I made a self-portrait. As you can probably tell, I can’t draw for s***
And my name? All in due time folks, all in due time.
Hasta la vista.
